Whether it’s a product of low self-esteem, lack of knowledge, or lack of faith; the “what ifs” of life will ultimately hinder our success and progress. Some may believe that if you have low expectations, then you will be satisfied with anything better than your initial expectation. If we only allow our mind to be as small as the “initial expectation”, that is all the capacity we leave for ourselves to receive. But I like to change wording sometimes, for better understanding. We don’t want to stop at having high expectations, but rather we want to have healthy expectations. The key to this, is meeting your high expectation with faith and understanding .
Loosen your grasp on those things hindering your progression. Loosen your hold on the things of the past that cannot be changed. Release that distorted perception of yourself. Let go of the things in your life that are causing you pain. I am aware that loosening your grip isn’t easy in the beginning, but there is truly beauty in it. It does not just shift our own life, but it also has the power to alter the lives of those who surround us. The act of worrying does not rid tomorrow of it’s distress, but in fact,it drains the present of its vigor.
What is limiting your faith? It all starts with changing your perspective. Of course this takes time. We all have had years to form a certain system of beliefs, which construct our expectations. But we have to start with disempowering those beliefs that keep us in a box. Make yourself available in the present, and choose to believe and pursue a better life for yourself. Surrender those limitations you have placed on your life. Don’t allow your grip on your comfort zone, to prevent you from blossoming. Be brave enough to loosen your grip.
